THE PRESIDENTS VIEW
Dear TMA Member,
It is more important than ever that we stick together as Theater Musicians
selling live theater orchestras to everyone we can. Music Technology is alive
and well as has been shown by the articles that have been written in the
Christian Science Monitor, and USA Today regarding Robo Music and the recent
article written by Jessie Green in the New York Times "Theater Music Live and
Well on Laptops". These articles remind us how important our job is to educate
and remind the public that Live Theater Music is what they should be hearing.
The AFM has hired a Public Relations Firm. Please take the time to tell
President Lee and the other AFM Officers and Executive Board Members that this
Live Theater Music Campaign should be one of the PR Firms Top Priorities.
It is hard to stop technology, but we must continue to sell ourselves and
theater music the way it was meant to be heard "LIVE". I am enclosing the
email addresses of our AFM Officers and Executive Board Members so you can let
them know how important this issue is to our livelihoods and us.
